Edward "Ed" J. Casey
On Tuesday, August 17, 2010, Edward Casey, 84, of St-Thomas-de-Kent, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Waltham, Mass. and raised in Suncook, NH, he was the son of the late Frank and Ada (Gautreau) Casey. Ed was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Des Moines. He worked in various parts of Massachusetts in pipefitting and plumbing jobs and raised his family, eventually moving to St-Thomas-de-Kent in 1974. After retirement, he enjoyed spending his winters in Florida. Ed was a 41 year member of AA, true to God and a great entertainer.

Ed was a devoted husband for 58 years to Huberte (née Maillet) of St-Thomas-de-Kent; proud Dad to Eddy Jr. (MaryLou), Roger (Kathryn) and Paul (Suzanne), all of Moncton; son-in-law, David (O.J.) Johnson of Holliston, Mass.; cherished Pépère to Eric, Michelle, Brian, Christopher, Maribeth, Julie and Laura and their families; brother to Leona Signor of Saratoga Springs, NY, Terri (Bill) LeLievre of Palmetto, FL, Joe of Canoga Park, CA and Jerry (Geraldine) of Manchester, NH; brother-in-law to Thélerise (Terry) Casey of Bridgewater, NH, Terry Casey of California and the Maillet family, based in St-Thomas-de-Kent.

Greeting him in Heaven is his only daughter, Susan; as well as his parents and his brothers, Raymond, Frank and Andrew.

Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church, 2460 Mountain Road, Moncton, Monday, August 23, 2010, 2:00 pm, Pastor Paul Pattison officiating. Reception in the Church Hall following the service.
