Charles M. Dickson
1918-2008
Charles M. Dickson, 90, of The Briarlea and formerly of Reade St.,
Moncton, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, October
20, 2008. Born in North River, NS, he was the son of the late Allison
C. and Christina (McNutt) Dickson. A resident of Moncton for over
sixty years, Charlie was retired from the T. Eaton Co. Ltd., with 35
years service. He was Past President of Gyro International, a former
member of the Moncton Curling Club, Moncton Gyro Club, Probus Club of
Greater Moncton and Moncton City Club Ltd. A Veteran of WWII, he
served with the Army from 1942 to 1946 and was a member of Branch # 6
Local, Royal Canadian Legion. He attended Mountain View United
Church.
Charles will be sadly missed by daughters, Debbie Graham (Brad), Aylmer, ON, Margaret Jonah (Jeff), Hopewell Cape; sons, Jack (Brenda), Ottawa, ON, Wayne (Cherie), Kingston, NS; grandchildren, Deanna, Cristi, Neil, Lindsay, Kerri, Chris, Jessica, Ryan; great grandchildren, Rebecca, Chloe, Ethan; sister, Mildred Underhill (Karl), Moncton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charlie was predeceased by his wife, Christina (Benzie) Dickson (2003); step-mother, Edith McCabe Dickson; brothers, Cecil, Martin.
No visitation by personal request. Celebration of Life Service, Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995)Friday, October 24, 2008, 2:00 pm, Rev. Mary Anningson officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.
